Haar I, 2025 — Oil and encaustic on wood panel — 30 × 35 cm

I am a British French visual artist based in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Painting is central to my practice, which has expanded to include socially engaged art, film, photography, and collaborative projects. I have many years of experience working on the fringes of art and creative health. My art practice is multi-faceted, and I enjoy staging interventions into the social landscape and creating opportunities for shared creative experiences. I am drawn to patterns and symbols, and I’ve been thinking about the idea of being an island and thinking like an archipelago. There is value in living on an archipelago, and I have been wondering if this perspective of the world could offer a glimmer of clarity in these turbid times. Could this mindset help foster free thinking?
